The 73-year-old scientist and tech entrepreneur was attending the World Business Forum in the Santa Fe neighbourhood of the Mexican capital.
Initial reports suggested that Wozniak was admitted to the hospital after he began to feel unwell following his participation in the event. While event organizers have not yet issued an official statement, an unnamed source at the World Business Forum informed CNN that Wozniak, affectionately known as “Woz,” had fainted during the conference.
However, TMZ, citing sources with direct knowledge of the situation, reported that Wozniak had managed to complete his speech but subsequently informed his wife that he was “feeling strange.” She, in turn, reportedly insisted that he seek immediate medical attention. The TMZ report raised the possibility that Wozniak might have experienced vertigo.
According to Mexico’s Reforma newspaper, Steve Wozniak is said to be in a “stable” condition and is receiving what has been described as “first-class treatment.” His team is currently en route to Mexico City to assess whether further medical treatment, possibly in the United States, is necessary.
