The Lagos State Government has received the Healthcare Equity and Access Award as a recognition for its dedication to healthcare access and equity in the state.

The award was received on behalf of the government by the Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District 3, Dr Monsurat Adeleke, at the just concluded Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria Awards in Lagos, a statement said on Monday.

The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria is a coalition led by the private sector that aims to enhance health outcomes in Nigeria by combining private sector resources.

Receiving the award on behalf of the state, Adeleke was quoted as saying that “It was gratifying that the Lagos State Government surpassed 6,000 nominees to clinch the prestigious award of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria.”

She added, “The honour showcases the T.H.E.M.E.S.+ Agenda’s pursuit led by Mr Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo Olu, to attain universal health coverage and enhance access to high-quality, efficient healthcare services for the state’s growing population.”

She dedicated the award to Sanwo-Olu and “the entire health family in the state for the giant and relentless efforts in enhancing healthcare and health results in Lagos through unfettered access to qualitative healthcare without geographical, financial, cultural or political barriers.”
