The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Police has a new commissioner of police.
The new helmsman of the Command, CP Shawulu Dan-Mammam, is the 37th Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, having taken over from AIG Ogundele Ayodeji, who was recently promoted and redeployed as AIG Zone 7, Abuja.
The spokesman of the Niger State Command, Wasiu Abiodun, made this known on Thursday in a statement in which he said the CP hails from the Lupwe-Takum area of Donga LGA in Taraba State.
“He was enlisted and appointed as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on May 18, 1992. He attended the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, between 1985 and 1988, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons.) degree with honours.
“He also attended the Nigeria Law School in Lagos between 1988 and 1989 and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on December 14, 1989.
“Dan-Mammam was severally a Divisional Police Officer in Obiaruku Division, Agbor Division, Ovwian/Aladja Division, and Ogborikoko Division, all in Delta State.
“Upon becoming an Assistant Commissioner of Police, he was AC Legal; Civil Litigation FCID Abuja; AC Welfare DFA Force Headquarters Abuja; and AC State CID Asaba.
“As a Deputy Commissioner of Police, the CP was the Deputy Commissioner of Police Department of Finance and Administration, Niger State Police Command, for four years.
“So far, as a Commissioner of Police, he has served as the Commissioner of Police Force Provost Marshal (FPM), Force Headquarters Abuja, until his redeployment to Niger State Police Command as the 37th Commissioner of Police in the State,” the statement read.
