The commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Ondo State, Dr. Olubunmi Osadahun was attacked and beaten in Arigidi Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government in Ondo State, by some APC members.
In a trending video, Dr. Olubunmi was seen being hit with a plastic chair, which resulted in a swollen head. The commissioner was also wounded in the face, with her left side bleeding.
The commissioner was attacked by some APC members within the local government after an allegation that the exercise of distributing the palliatives meant to cushion the effect of the removal of the Fuel subsidy was full of secrecy by Government officials.
According to some reports, the yet unknown individuals who physically abused the commissioner have not been apprehended by the police, and as of the time of filing this Report, Nigeria News understands that the Police authorities have not named those behind the attack.
It is alleged that some loyalists who work for the APC chairman in Akoko North West, ward one, Olumide Awolumate, popularly called “Cuba” were behind the assault.
Ffollowing her injuries, the commissioner was taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical care.
