Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba who was popularly known as Mohbad passed away today on 22th of September 2023. The demise of Mohbad has caused shock across Nigeria as many Nigerians are still surprised. The 27-year-old rapper and singer was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s “Marlian Records” but left the Record label after a very turbulent Misunderstanding with his boss Naira Marley and some singers in the record label.
Music executive @OvieO confirmed the sad news via his X account with a very short tweet. “Confirmed, Mohbad is dead. Sad, sad day”. OvieO also shut out numerous speculations and rumors concerning Mohbad’s demise on his account. “It’s important to apply wisdom and caution when it comes to Mohbad’s demise. I’m already seeing some wild tweets. Do not make ridiculous insinuations. Be very careful.”
Mohbab was best known for his hit singles “Ponmo, Feel Good and KPK (ko por ke). His collaboration with Rexxie to produce “you will always be remembered” was nominated for The Headies award thrice in 2022. Mohbad was born June 8, 1996, in Lagos, Nigeria, and has since 2019 been active as an Afrobeats and Hip hop singer. The death of Mohbad has caused loads of reactions from many well-meaning Nigerians.
