Rivers United have arrived in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire for the game against Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup
On Friday morning, the players and their representatives landed at Felix Houphouet Boigny International Airport.
Later today, the former Nigeria Premier Football League winners will train lightly on Ivorian turf.
After their home field was rejected by CAF, the Burkinabe used Stade Municipal Stadium, Yamoussoukro as their home field.
This is the first time the two teams have ever met.
Last year, Rivers United reached the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals.
